The Cucalorus Film Festival seeks sponsors for the 18th annual celebration taking place in Wilmington, North Carolina from November 8-11, 2012. More than 150 films will screen as artists descend on the Port City to share work, play music, and celebrate. Hundreds of die-hard Cucalorians travel to the festival each year from 78 cities across the US, with dozens of artist coming from countries around the world. Cucalorus offers a little something for everyone with events like Dance-a-lorus and the Blue Velvet tour. The festival showcases bold emerging filmmakers with programs dedicated to social justice, current global cinema, and hits from the festival circuit.

Founded in 1994 by a small filmmaking collective, Cucalorus has evolved from an intimate one-night event into a four-day, international festival. TIME Magazine picked up on the festival's momentum in an article spotlighting ten of the best film festivals for the average cinema fan- "At this festival, unlike others, there are no prizes awarded; the ruggedly independent event celebrates the pure love of filmmaking."
